DVD-5 is the most common, but here are the 3 main types:
DVD-5 is a single layered single sided DVD, holds 4.7GB of information (translates to around 133 minutes of video)
DVD-9 is a double layered single sided DVD, holds 8.5 GB of information, translates to around 242 minutes of video.
DVD-10 is a single layered double sided DVD (have to flip the disc in the player), holds 10GB of information, translates to around 266 minutes of video.
